* Can be added as well, Mom always used it but I dont always put it in. Amount depends on your tastes. Usually 8-12 oz container chopped.
Cream brown sugar and butter. Add eggs and beat well. Add nuts. Sift dry ingredients and add ground oatmeal to it. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well. Add citron if desired. Roll into ballsEand roll in sugar (colored sugars). Bake for 15 minutes in a 350* oven.
All I know about the background of this recipe is that on my Moms recipe card, on the bottom it says that it was a 30 year old recipe from Ohio and the date on the card was 1985.
